🔹 How Do Bail Bonds Work?
When someone is arrested, the court assigns a bail amount to ensure they appear for future court dates. A bail bond allows the defendant to be released from jail by paying a portion of that amount—usually through a licensed bail bond company.
The bonding company guarantees the full bail to the court, while you pay a nonrefundable fee and agree to all bond conditions.
🔹 Is the 10%, 15%, or 20% Fee Refundable?
No. The 10%, 15%, or 20% is a nonrefundable premium paid for the bail bond service.
This fee covers the bonding company's risk, time, and legal responsibility in guaranteeing the defendant’s appearance and securing their release.
🔹 What Is an Escrow, and Is It Refundable?
Yes, escrow is refundable but separate from the nonrefundable premium. It’s a deposit held to secure the bond and must be paid in addition to the premium. Once the case is dismissed or concluded, the escrow becomes eligible for refund.
Clients have 30 days after case closure to claim it. After that, administrative and handling fees may apply, reducing the refundable amount.
